You Me At Six + Enter Shikari

I was graced by a double-feature here in our hometown of Orlando; You Me At Six on their last US tour, and Enter Shikari tearing up central Florida for the second time this year. You Me At Six definitely has an ubeat energy, but their final US, and Florida date specifically, made the entire set more emotional than you average rock show.

What can I possibly say about Enter Shikari that hasn’t already been said. They had breakdowns, they tested the limits of the venues sound system with electronic music, and Rou Reynolds played the trumpet. Carry on boys.

Otoboke Beaver + Drinking Boys and Girls Choir

The all-girl, punk rock, double feature of the year. Both bands may seem youthful, but don’t let the aesthetics fool you. These are some of the most talented and seasoned musicians I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing. All without backing tracks and performed more accurately than most technical metal bands I’ve seen (and having a lot more fun while doing it). This already incredible experience was made into a truly special one by being a combination of the final date on this tour, as well as Acco’s birthday !

Drinking Boys and Girls Choir is a three-piece punk band hailing from South Korea. The band has a great dynamic together, and their positive attitude and clear love for the punk-rock scene, makes the reprieve between songs a nice contrast to their punchy performance. Plus the alligator suit and the crowd-surfing that followed, was absolutely legendary.

I’m not the first, and I won’t be the last to discuss the mind-blowing experience that is Otoboke Beaver live. The likes of Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) and Jack White (The White Stripes) have said more with their patronage than I ever could in this brief post. This Japanese quartet has become quintessential to modern punk, delivering aggressive shows, in a uniquely Japanese way. They may seem “kawaii” in photos, but be belligerent or disrespectful, and they’ll flick you off, throw you out and yell “f*** you” like any good punk rockers would.

When’s the next show because I need more of them ASAP.

Despised Icon at The Beacham

Last week at The Beacham, our client Despised Icon delivered a powerful performance that left the audience in awe. With their intense energy and crushing riffs, this band proved once again why they are a force to be reckoned with in the metal scene.

For those in attendance, it was a night to remember, a testament to the band’s unwavering dedication to their craft. If you missed the show, make it a priority to catch Despised Icon live next time they’re in town. Their live performance is an unforgettable experience for any fan of metal music, and one not to be missed. Keep an eye on their tour schedule and prepare to be blown away!

Palace at The Beacham

Last Friday, a member of our team had the opportunity to go see Palace perform at The Beacham.
She told us that they were absolutely awesome to see live.

The band performed to a packed house at their Orlando event on their headlining tour.
Their Blues licks and drum patterns compiled with the powerful, soulful voice of Leo Wyndham create a truly captivating show.

We can’t wait to see them back here in Florida!

Haken at The Beacham

Last night, The Beacham was filled with fans of both Prog Metal and Hawaiian shirts.
Haken came to our small town of Orlando and brought plenty of energy along with them

Not only did the band shake the house with each member’s technical prowess; They also delivered an excellent visual journey.

Hopefully the next time the band comes back to town, we’ll see some Haken Hawaiian shirts at the merch table!

PUP @ The Beacham

The most exciting punk band I’ve had the pleasure of seeing live.

These may seem like your ordinary, friendly, Letterkenny-loving Canadian lads, but the guys in PUP don’t hold back their punk rock ways. Combining modern elements of emotional acuity along with classic punk, nihilistic philosophies they are a thoroughly good time in the car or live on stage. They’re touring the globe (again) so don’t miss them tearing up your local venue.

Definitely looking forward to my screech-in.
