James & The Cold Gun

Danna and I had the pleasure of catching James & The Cold Gun. They were incredible on stage, and incredibly nice off stage too, when we got to chat at their merch table! Don’t take my word for it though, here are Danna’s thoughts:

“James & the Cold Gun’s concert was such a wonderful surprise! Their energy on stage was incredible—they put on an amazing opening show, gave it their all, and kept the excitement soaring from start to finish. After the show, We had the chance to meet them in person, and they couldn’t have been kinder or more welcoming. It was a truly special night—such a perfect way to wrap up Valentine’s week! 💖

Bad Nerves + Nothing But Thieves

Another double feature, this time with Bad Nerves opening for Nothing But Thieves at House of Blues!

I always appreciate having rowdier, heavier punk and metal bands opening for larger artists, and Bad Nerves definitely delivered that punk energy to some fans that may not have otherwise realized they liked it.

This isn’t Nothing But Thieves’ first time around and the block, and it surely won’t be their last.

Pale Waves

Last night was a triple threat, with all three bands being female-fronted and carrying a great energy the whole show. Right between Bruses and PVRIS, Pale Waves brought the energy of a full band, with a clean, catchy sound right in the pocket that every band eventually strives for.

IDLES

Without a doubt, one of the best bands touring right now, and they put on an absolutely incredible show. I don’t have as much knowledge and experience with lighting, but even I could tell this was some of the best lighting design and production I’ve seen from a band, especially at House of Blues.

COUNTERPARTS

There could not have been a tour more aptly named for Counterparts than “Metalcore Dropouts.” Where most bands zig, Counterparts zags. Starting as a heavy band and then making your sound more accessible with clean vocals? Counterparts says, how about we get heavier. Hiring a social media manager to professionalize your band’s footprint online? Brendan (the vocalist) says, how about I court controversy by trolling. Where most bands from this era hardly sound like what they did to get big to begin with, Counterparts as stayed true to their audience, while continuing to grow and put out better and better work. Counterparts may not be the biggest band in the genre, but to quote a famous Counterparts fan: Mama if that’s moving up, then we’re dropping out.

Holding Absence at House of Blues, Orlando

09/14/2022

Holding absence came down to Orlando and put on a spectacle for the crowd, and I was lucky enough to be there. The band does not only have amazing melodies, breakdowns, and lyrical content, but they are also some of the nicest people in the scene. I look forward to seeing this spectacle of a show next time they come to our city!

Dua Lipa at House of Blues, Orlando

We’ve been filing Dua Lipa’s CWAs for two years and we were very excited that she made a return trip to Orlando, FL after the last show was canceled.  Delia and Kim went out to see the show at House of Blues.  The venue was packed and the show was amazing!

Vanessa Da Mata at House of Blues, Orlando

Last night Jackie and I had the opportunity to see our CWA client at House of Blues on Easter Sunday. Once again, we were the only ones in the building that did not speak Portuguese. Very noticeable as everyone was singing along.  Awesome show!

Broken Social Scene at House of Blues, Orlando

This is our second year filing CWA’s for Broken Social Scene. We were very excited to finally meet them at their show in Orlando, FL at House of Blues!

HIM in Orlando

Legendary rock band HIM was at House of Blues in Disney Springs last night as a part of their farewell tour after 26 years together. Unfortunately, this will be our last Central Withholding Agreement with them as they are ending the band.
